Ronald Arthur Armstrong
June 19, 1937 – January 25, 2026
It is with sadness and heavy hearts, that we announce the sudden passing of RONALD ARTHUR ARMSTRONG, age 88, at his home in Yorkton, Saskatchewan on Sunday, January 25, 2026.
Ron was born at Fillmore, Saskatchewan on June 19, 1937 to parents Blanche and Donald Armstrong, and he grew up in Moosomin, Saskatchewan.
In the early 1960’s he moved with his family to Thompson, Manitoba where he was employed by International Nickel for over 30 years.
Upon his retirement in 1992, he settled in Good Spirit Acres, Saskatchewan, with his wife Wilma (Willie).
He loved his retirement home at Good Spirit Acres, working in the yard, woodworking, fixing things, chatting with friends and neighbours, or just tinkering in the garage.
He also spent time helping with community work parties and events, golfing in the summer, cross country skiing in the winter, and enjoyed a four year term as councillor representing the hamlet of Good Spirit Acres in the R.M. of Good Lake.
Ron was predeceased by his parents Blanche and Donald Armstrong; sister Virginia Heal (Terry); son Brent of Thompson, Manitoba; aunts and uncle Florence Hopper, Ethel Clark, and Doug and Illene Redfern who are all from Moosomin, Saskatchewan.
Ron is survived by his wife Wilma; granddaughter Jamie; grandson Austin; great-grandson Shea of Sioux Lookout, Ontario; brother-in-law Terry Heal; nieces Janine (Don) and Michelle of Regina; and sister Janice.
Ron is also survived by his five stepchildren; five step-grandchildren and their large extended families.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral. He will be cremated, and a memorial gathering of immediate family to spread his ashes is to be held at a later date to be determined by his family.
